What we collect
- Location. Used on-device to calculate moonrise/moonset, visible events, weather, and to align the AR sky view for your position. Requires your permission and can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings.
- Camera & motion. Used only while you have AR Sky View open, to overlay celestial objects on your camera feed and orient them correctly. Camera frames and motion data are processed on-device and are not uploaded or stored by us.
- Notification preferences. Which alert types you enable (moon phases, ISS passes, celestial events) are stored on your device to schedule local notifications.
- Purchase data. Subscription status is managed by Apple and RevenueCat to unlock Pro features and restore purchases across your devices. We do not receive or store your payment details; those stay with Apple.
- Crash & error reports. We use Sentry to capture crash reports and error diagnostics so we can fix bugs. These reports may include device model, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash, not your personal content.
- Support requests. If you email us, we keep that correspondence (including your email address) to respond and troubleshoot.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show third-party ads or share data with ad networks.
- We don't build advertising profiles from your location or usage.
Third parties
We rely on a small set of service providers to run the app:
- Apple: App Store purchases and push notification delivery.
- RevenueCat: subscription status and entitlement management.
- Sentry: crash and error reporting.
Each provider processes data only as needed to provide their service to us.
Your choices
You can revoke Location, Camera, Motion, or Notification permissions anytime in iOS Settings → Moon Tracker. You can request deletion of any support correspondence we hold about you by emailing us.
Children
Moon Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
